Decorating your Gazebo for a wedding

It’s outdoor wedding season again! No matter if you are planning a gazebo inspired wedding outdoors; having a wedding in a park under a gazebo or hosting a wedding in your very own back yard, there are decorating ideas to add a splash of personal style or build on your wedding theme in a creative way.

Here are some ideas…

Ideas #1: Light the pathway or stairs with luminaries or lanterns so the walk to the gazebo wedding is bright and easy to follow. If there are trees nearby you can also hang lanterns from the branches. This will create a larger and brighter space.

Idea #2: To enhance the beauty and simple elegance of your event, entwine plenty of twinkling white lights around the gazebo, using eave grip clips to fasten the lights down. You can hang the lights around the gazebo banisters, columns, rafters and roof. Then, wrap garland or flowers around the light strings. Be sure to watch for any fire hazards and read the safety precautions pamphlet.

Idea #3: Have your florist create a floral swag to pin up on the entryway of the gazebo. Then place 2 large potted plants on either side of the swag to frame the door way. This will create an archway and frame for a grand entrance. You can also use grip clips to secure the swag onto the gazebo.

Ideas #4: Layers of tulle can help create a romantic setting and feeling of romance around the gazebo. Using grip clips or other standard fasteners, you can layer the tulle around the gazebo banisters, poles, railings, across the gazebo roof line and on the backs of seating chairs. The more tulle you use, the more of a grand feeling you will create. Use a little bit less if you are looking to create an understated, more conservative wedding.

Idea #5: Rose petals are always romantic and add a little bit of sweet, smelling colour to any situation. You can scatter petals on the floor of the gazebo or on the pathway to get there. Add flowers to the tables or just petals around your centre pieces for a sensual effect.

No matter what time of year it is, a gazebo is a classic and wonderful attraction to any garden. Whether you use your gazebo an entertaining area, a private reading room, a yoga sanctuary or just a place to get away, a few simple ideas can turn your gazebo into a dreamy, backyard get away.

idea #1: Add some hanging plants to the archways of your gazebo. This simple element will add colour and life to your gazebo, as well as enhance extra privacy. For even more privacy, consider planting annual vines. These vines actually grow pretty quickly and can be encouraged to grow into empty spaces or up around your gazebo frame.

Idea #2: Adding a humming bird feeder, a bird bath or a bird house to your gazebo can not only beautify your space but turn your gazebo into a great bird watching area.

Idea #3: Water fountains create a calming and relaxing atmosphere for almost any backyard space. No matter where you put them, it is always nice to hear the water flowing from one end to the other. The great thing about fountains is that they can be custom built by a landscape and stone company or you can buy one prebuilt. They come in many shapes and sizes. A nice place to put a fountain is near a walkway or in a place you can see it from your gazebo.

Idea #4: Create a romantic and well lit area with solar powered garden lamps, hanging candles or creatively strung Christmas lights. Outdoor lighting is limitless and makes a world of difference, especially on a warm summer evening.

Idea #5: A set of wind chimes are always nice touch to any backyard. You can hang them in the archway of your gazebo or in the entry way. Either way the wind in the chimes leaves a nice ring that sooths the mind.

Any gazebo space can be made to come alive at night with some fancy gazebo illumination! Not only that but you’ll be able to see your burgers burning on the grill 10 feet away and, see your companies faces only a chair away. Wouldn’t that be nice!

Gazebo lighting can be anything, from a string of lightbulbs draped around the gazebo, to a lantern to some candles. Of couse we all know the dangers of a lit flame burning inside a gazebo but, with proper precautions it can be done safely and effectively.

Of course the best choice in lighting is what suits your budget, your needs and enhances the space around you. There are many different styles of lighting today- different shapes, sizes, etc.

In general, most gazebo owners choose to opt into a general lighting, low-voltage lighting system. Low-voltage lights are safe, inexpensive, easy to install, and cosume less energy- which means energy and money savings for you.

Another great place to install lights in anywhere there are paths or walkways, danger zones like a pond or high traffic areas of your yard such as, the BBQ and table area.

If your not sure what kind of lights would best suit your gazebo or yard just ask the installer for their oppinion. They have seen it all before and would probably be happy to give you some ideas.

Gazebo Newsletter?

How exciting would a Gazebo Newsletter be everyone?
“Very exciting” you say!!
Well…. that is the response we have had so far!
People (people that view our website) are really looking forward to a potentially up-and-coming “Gazebo Newsletter”, containing News, tips, gazebo information, company growth, promotions and more.

So based on our viewers request we have a discussion going on about building a newsletter template to fill mothly or quarterly (we are not sure yet) to send out to those interested gazebo lovers. A great idea too might be to have a forward button right on the newsletter allowing the reader to forward it to friends, family and those interested. This could be a hit as someone always knows someone who knows someone who wants a gazebo! And why wouldn’t you? Well…you would! So the right question actually is Why would you -want a gazebo? There are so many answers…so you tell me!!

Gazebo Site Preparation

We strongly recommend a hard, compact base for your gazebo. The base both supports the gazebo and allows for proper drainage below. The hard, compact material can be anything from pea gravel to a concrete pad—and everything in between.

Once you have selected the foundation material, it must be leveled within 1-2 inches from side to side. Loose stones are easier to level, and provide ample support. Stones are also much less expensive than solid materials such as concrete, flagstone or brick. If you choose a concrete pad, it must be square, level and plum. A sloping pad means a leaning gazebo, which will put extra stress on joints. A benefit of concrete, flagstone or brick pads is the additional functionality, as they can be expanded for other uses and support larger weights.

Elevation

If you choose to elevate your gazebo, please consult with our design consultants. We can typically recommend where to place the anchors and posts to support the raised gazebo. Like everything, being off by a few inches can mean a lot! Our design consultants can provide on-posts drawings and advice to properly support your raised gazebo.

Electrical

The hidden wiring package is one our most practical and popular options. However, we suggest that a professional run live wiring to the gazebo, if you are not comfortable dealing with electricity.

Permits

In some areas, home owners associations and local governments like to be consulted about gazebo, shed and cabana projects. Very often, the local codes are available on the web, making it easier for you to determine if a permit is necessary. It is our pledge to you that we will provide any necessary information, so that you may obtain a permit in as little time as possible. Deposits are 100% refundable, if we are not able to help you obtain a permit.
